I typically ship Bonsai using FedEx Ground and have sent them across the United States. Unfortunately, FedEx does not provide insurance for plant materials, so I cannot guarantee delivery times or the condition of the Bonsai upon arrival. However, I've shipped over hundreds of trees with very minimal damage, and delivery delays have generally been 1-2 days at most. For heavier trees, I've noticed that shipping them in their ceramic pots often results in damage to the pot. In those cases, I will remove the tree from the pot and ship them separately.
